What Linux Distro Should I Try?

I recently upgraded to a 1TB M.2 drive for Windows and now have an extra 250GB SSD available for a Linux OS. I've got some experience with Ubuntu from my college days and I'm fairly comfortable using terminal commands. I'm considering Debian or Arch for my new installation, but I'm looking for some advice on which distro might be the best choice for me right now.

I suggest you try a few distros using Ventoy first. It's really helpful to experiment without installing right away. Debian is a good option too if you want reliability!

You might want to check out the live environment for Debian. It lets you test it out before committing to an installation. I've heard Arch requires a lot of manual setup, so if you enjoy hands-on work, it might be for you, but it can be a bit daunting if you’re new.

If you're leaning towards Arch, consider trying EndeavourOS instead. It's based on Arch but offers a more straightforward setup. Plus, it's user-friendly, so it'll ease you into the Arch ecosystem.

Have you considered Fedora? Fedora Workstation is solid and has great support. It's beginner-friendly and has up-to-date packages. Definitely worth a shot!

Honestly, Mint is a great choice for beginners and it's pretty user-friendly. I'd put Debian as my second option since it's quite stable. Both should serve you well!
