I'm looking for some recommendations on a Linux distribution for my laptop. Here are my specs: I have 4GB of RAM and an AMD A4-3300M APU with Radeon 6480G. I originally had Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Any suggestions for a lightweight, user-friendly distro?

I suggest trying out an LXQT environment like Lubuntu or the LXQT variant of Fedora. They're lightweight and have a Windows-like feel. XFCE is also an option, but it might be a bit less user-friendly in my opinion.

Totally agree! LXQT is awesome because it's easy on resources, looks good, and has received nice updates recently.

Some recommended distros include Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pop OS, and Bazzite (which is immutable like SteamOS). They all have good community support and should run well on your laptop.

Have you checked their hardware compatibility? That might help in choosing the best one.

You could give Linux Mint with XFCE or Zorin OS Lite a shot. They're both pretty solid for lower-spec hardware.

Just a heads-up: Linux is quite different from Windows, so if you're looking for a seamless transition, Zorin OS might be a good fit.

Don't overlook MX Linux with Fluxbox! It's another lightweight option that works well on older hardware.
