I'm a college student looking to upgrade my old 23-inch 1080p monitor that I've had for around 10-15 years. It's got some scratches and has served me well, but it's time for a change. I recently bought an Innocn 32M2V for $550, but I returned it due to too many issues. I'm not looking for the highest-end model; I just want a decent upgrade that's worth the investment. Any suggestions?

I'd recommend going to a store and checking them out in person. Don't just rely on reviews; see the colors, motion blur, and overall quality for yourself. Your monitor will outlast your current PC, so it's worth making sure you like what you get!
If you’re looking for something budget-friendly without compromising quality, the LG UltraGear 32" at 165Hz could be a great choice too!
Check out the MSI G274PF. It's a solid 27-inch 1080p monitor with a 180Hz refresh rate. Perfect for smooth visuals without breaking the bank!
I was actually considering jumping to 1440p or maybe even 4K if the price is right.
I upgraded to a 27-inch 1440p at 144Hz from a similar 1080p setup, and it's a fantastic experience. Everything is much smoother and clearer now!
That sounds awesome! What model did you end up getting?
What games do you want to play and what specs does your PC have?
I've got an RTX 3060, and I’m also thinking of getting the Nintendo Switch 2 which can handle 4K.
If you stick with 1080p, a 22-inch model can actually look quite nice, comparable to a 27-inch 1440p screen. Aim for an IPS display for great colors and brightness—300 nits or more are ideal, plus get the highest refresh rate you can afford!
Yeah, that's true, but I’m not really into competitive gaming.
For the best balance, a 27-inch 1440p with 160-170Hz refresh rate can really enhance your experience without being overwhelming.
First off, what kind of games do you usually play? That could help narrow down your options.
I mostly play story-rich games like Skyrim and Dark Souls, nothing too competitive.
Yeah, but local stores tend to charge a lot more for monitors where I live!
