Hey everyone! I've loved programming since I was a kid, and I've developed some skills in backend development. Now, I'm eager to jump into the job market, but I'm curious about what kind of salary I should expect for an entry-level position. I know it can vary quite a bit depending on skills and other factors, so I'm looking for a rough idea of the average salary in the field.

It really depends on the location and the company type. I suggest checking out levels.fyi for detailed salary info. Generally, you could expect around $75k per year on average, but if you score a job at a FAANG company (or MANGO, as it's called now), salaries can jump to over $100k, although you might have to relocate to areas like Seattle or the Bay Area.

Your salary can really vary based on a couple of key factors: where you’re located and whether the company is tech-focused or not. For example, if you land a position at a tech company in a major city like San Francisco, you might be looking at around $160k or even more for an entry-level role. But, if you’re applying to a non-tech firm in a smaller city, like Spokane, the number could drop to about $60k or less. Globally, it’s different too; Europe generally has lower salaries, but you often get better benefits, while top developers in India can earn nearly as much as some U.S. counterparts!
