I received an email from Microsoft today informing me that the security data for my Microsoft account has been deleted. I don't recall the email of the person who deleted it, but it seemed to come from a kid's Gmail address. I don't have anything important on that account, but it's linked to another device that holds my main account. I'm worried about what this means. Should I be concerned about my main account? Can the deletion affect it? I decided to delete the compromised account since it didn't contain any important information, but I'm still feeling a bit uneasy about the whole situation.

Totally understand your concern! If you’ve deleted that fake account and nothing seems amiss with your main account, you might be okay. But if you entered your email on a sketchy server, keep an eye on it just in case. It’s always a good idea to reset your passwords periodically and monitor your accounts for unusual activity.
First off, make sure you check if you actually have any changes to your accounts. It’s possible that the email could be a phishing attempt—it happens! You should log into your Microsoft account directly (not through any links in the email) to see if anything looks off. If everything seems normal, then you might be in the clear. Just to be safe, change your password for your main account and enable two-factor authentication if you haven't yet. Better safe than sorry!
I agree with TechGuru77! It sounds like it could be a phishing email. Always log in directly to your account rather than clicking links in emails. And definitely secure your accounts with two-factor authentication!
Yeah, I’d keep monitoring too. Even if it seems fine, weird stuff can happen when you connect email to outside servers, so better to be cautious.
