What should I do after getting hacked on social media?

Hey everyone, I need some serious help! I've recently had two of my social media accounts hacked – first my LinkedIn, which I think happened because of an old, weak password. I didn't think much of it since I hadn't logged in for a while. But now, my Facebook account has been hacked too, which is way more concerning because I actively use it for the marketplace and promotions. I've already canceled my bank card as a precaution, and the Facebook account is linked to a completely different email than LinkedIn.

I'm feeling pretty paranoid and don't even want to use my PC right now. I'm worried that I might have accidentally clicked on a malicious link or downloaded something dangerous. I have no experience with this sort of thing. Should I just wipe my PC and reinstall Windows, or is there something else I should do first? Thanks for any advice!

If you’re looking for malware scanning software, I’d suggest using Malwarebytes or you can use Microsoft Defender, which is built into Windows. Both are pretty effective at finding issues. Just make sure whatever you choose is updated before running the scan.

First things first, run a malware scan to check if your computer is infected. It's super important to change all your passwords to strong, unique ones while you're at it. Plus, make sure to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on each of your social media accounts for extra security. You probably don't need to reinstall Windows unless the scan comes up with something really nasty.
