I'm planning to upgrade my GPU from an Nvidia GeForce 3070 to an AMD Radeon 9070XT, but I've never owned an AMD card before. Since I'm sticking with the same case and hard drives, I really want to avoid a clean Windows install. Do I just need to uninstall my Nvidia drivers before putting in the new GPU?

Definitely use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) tool to remove the old drivers. You can actually run DDU after installing the new card if that’s easier for you! Either way, that’s the important step to avoid conflicts.
Using DDU is key to removing the old drivers completely. Other than that, you should be set with the upgrade, no need for any further prep!
Alright thank you!
You don't need to reinstall Windows at all. Just make sure to use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to cleanly uninstall your current Nvidia drivers before you install the new AMD drivers. It's pretty straightforward!
OK thank you!
Ok thanks!
