I'm currently running a Ryzen 5 2600 with a GTX 1650 SUPER, and I've noticed that games from 2017 onwards really struggle, causing stutters. I also like to keep multiple windows open, so I'm considering upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600. However, since I play games like CS2 and Red Dead Redemption, I'm torn between upgrading my CPU or jumping to an RTX 3060 or potentially even a 5060. My budget isn't an issue as I can save up over time. What do you think should be my first upgrade? Here's my current setup:
- AMD Ryzen 5 2600
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER
- MSI B450I GAMING PLUS AC
- CORSAIR DDR4 16GB (2x8)
- Seasonic Focus Plus 550 PSU
- Windows 11 Pro
Any advice would be appreciated!

Honestly, tackle the GPU first. The 1650 SUPER is starting to show its age, especially for newer games. Upgrading to something like an RTX 3060 would give you a noticeable performance boost right away, especially for titles like CS2 and Red Dead.
I’d suggest upgrading to AM5 and slowly picking up the components you need for a full rebuild. It’ll set you up well for future upgrades!
What specific parts should I aim for then?
If you're open to buying used, check out the 2080 Ti! It's often overlooked but outperforms the 3070 and can usually be found for a good price. Just be aware you might need a better PSU. If you can afford it, upgrading to AM5 would be a fantastic move, especially with a Ryzen 7 5700X3D that's a significant upgrade!

This is the way.
