What to Do After Facing a Random Pop-Up on My Phone?

Hi everyone! I need some advice about something that just happened. I was browsing a website on my Galaxy phone and suddenly got hit with a random pop-up that was talking about a fortune picker or something similar. I panicked and quickly closed the page and restarted my phone. I called my service provider, T-Mobile, and they suggested I run a McAfee scan, which I did twice, and thankfully it found no threats. I didn't have McAfee activated before but I do now. Am I safe? This whole thing is really stressing me out because I struggle with OCD. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

You did the right thing by backing out and restarting your phone. Running the McAfee scan twice was smart, and if it didn’t find anything, you’re probably in the clear. Just stay cautious about clicking unknown links in the future!

It sounds like you might have landed on a website that had some sketchy ads or pop-ups. Generally, mobile devices are a bit safer from these kinds of issues compared to desktops. Just keep an eye on the sites you visit. It's good that you cleared your history; that helps too!
