What Upgrades Should I Consider for My PC?

Hey everyone! I built my first PC back in 2019, largely thanks to the advice from this community. In 2023, I upgraded my graphics card and added more RAM, but I'm looking for more upgrades or changes to help my system last into the coming years. I use it for various games like ARC Raiders, Sims 4, Baldur's Gate 3, Mass Effect, and Witcher 3, and I also use it daily. I don't have a strict budget but I'm open to suggestions that will enhance my gaming performance without unnecessarily splurging on high-priced parts. Any thoughts? Here's my build link for reference: [My Build](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vQMKJn)

First things first, you really need to think about your CPU. It's most likely the bottleneck with your current setup. I'd recommend upgrading that as a priority. Your GPU still has a bit of life left in it, so unless you have a budget for a new one, stick with what you have for now.

I totally agree! Just added that for context, I don't have a strict budget but want to avoid overspending on a single part if the rest won’t keep up. I'd rather not dive into a full rebuild just yet.

You should consider getting a larger SSD for your system. Right now, you've only got 250GB which can fill up fast, especially with all those games. A 1TB NVMe SSD goes for about $100, and it’ll make a huge difference in loading times. Also, when it comes to your CPU, I'd suggest a 5600XT or better. If you're looking at GPUs, checking the used market can yield some fantastic deals!

I agree! The SATA SSD is fine for booting, but definitely get an SSD for your games to improve load times. The CPU upgrade is essential — the 5800X is a solid choice!

Thanks for the input! What’s the difference between the 5800X and its variants? I've been looking but don’t see a huge difference.

Yeah, definitely focus on the CPU upgrade. That's been a major weak spot in your setup for a while now!

You absolutely can't overlook upgrading your monitor. A high refresh rate monitor makes a world of difference in gaming experience. If what you linked is your current monitor, consider getting a 144Hz or even 240Hz display. They're pretty affordable nowadays. After the monitor, definitely look into swapping your CPU and SSD for improved performance. GPU upgrades are less impactful without a solid monitor upgrade. Plus, a better monitor would allow you to utilize 1080p or 1440p resolutions more effortlessly!

You’re right! I hadn't thought about my monitor constraint. That might be worth investing in along with the CPU and SSD. I can save up for a better GPU later. Any recommendations for a good 27" 200+Hz monitor around $200?

You could check options like those from Samsung, LG, or Acer that are around that price range. They often have good specs for gaming!
