My friend is having a really strange issue with their microphone where it only produces static when they're playing certain games. They're using a Windows 10 desktop with a GTX 1050 and an older CPU, and the problem occurs with both an ILIVE IAHF19B headset and a Logitech G432 headset (both wired). The mic works fine in apps like Discord, SteelSeries, and Steam, but in games like Content Warning, Repo, and Peak, it just gives static. Interestingly, it works in Subterror. We've ensured that all drivers and Windows updates are current, and adjusting settings in the SteelSeries app or the Windows Game Bar hasn't helped at all. We're at a loss and could really use some help figuring out what's going on. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried disabling all audio input devices except for the microphone? Sometimes conflicts can cause issues like this, especially with multiple devices hooked up. Just a thought!
We checked that too, but there was only the one audio input device plus SteelSeries installed, and the issue existed even before we downloaded the SteelSeries software.
