- Motherboard: Msi mag x870e tomahawk wifi
- CPU: 9950x3d
- GPU: Sapphire NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16G OC
- RAM: 2x32GB 6400MHz CL32
Right now, I'm using Linux Mint on my old setup with an i7-9700K and RTX2080. However, I heard that the 9070 XT GPU requires at least kernel version 6.12, while Linux Mint has 6.8. Instead of manually updating everything, I figured it might be best to switch distros. I'm considering Fedora 42 since it uses kernel 6.14, which should meet my GPU needs. Is Fedora 42 a good fit, or should I look for something even newer? Also, since I'm still quite new to Linux (just switched from Windows 10 a month ago), I'd prefer to stay away from Arch.

Why not test out a few options first? You can live boot from a USB stick with different distros to see how well they work with your new hardware before committing to one. It’s a great way to find the right fit!
You might also want to consider using Windows if your main goal is gaming. It generally has the widest compatibility with most games, especially with newer hardware.
