Hey folks! I recently got a work laptop, and I also have a home desktop set up with two monitors. I'm looking for a KVM switch to make transitioning between them easier—I'm tired of plugging and unplugging cables every day. Also, I do some gaming on my home desktop, so keep that in mind! Any recommendations?

I’ve got a no-name 4K60 4in2out DP KVM that works for three laptops and two WQHD monitors at 60Hz. Just a heads-up: KVMs that support over 60Hz can get pricey, so it really depends on your monitor and GPU capabilities. It might be a bit of trial and error to find the right setup!

For my setup, I use my monitor's built-in input switching feature since my monitor has multiple inputs. It's super convenient for using my work laptop without any extra hardware.

Before choosing a KVM switch, what kind of connections do your monitors and laptop support? Also, the resolution and refresh rates of your displays are essential to know. Once I have that info, I can help narrow down what you might need!

You should definitely check out a KVM switch! It's perfect for switching between your work laptop and home desktop without all that plugging and unplugging.

Thanks for the tip on the KVM switch! Do you have a specific brand you recommend?

I've been using a Tesmart KVM switch, and it's been great for my needs. I have the rack-mounted 4x2 model, which works well for me since I just do software. If you're into gaming, they offer models with higher refresh rates too.
