I'm building my first PC and decided to go with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D since I found a great deal on it. I'm trying to figure out which motherboard would give me the best value for around $250 or less. Should I invest in a higher-quality motherboard that I can reuse in future builds, or would a cheaper option suffice? I'm still learning about PC components, so any advice would be really appreciated!

For most users, the B850 series is where you start picking up premium features like better audio and robust VRMs. The B850 Tomahawk Max is priced at about $190, and you might also consider the B850 Steel Legend for around $170. Just keep in mind, there's been some controversy around it lately.
I’m using the MSI PRO B650-P WIFI with mine, and it’s worked well without any issues so far.
If you plan to tweak RAM and CPU clock speeds, a higher-end motherboard is probably worth it. But if gaming is your main goal and you’re not worried about overclocking, a B650 board is a solid choice. I went with an ASUS B650e-E TUF for $160 and spent the rest of my budget on a GPU.
Building a PC is always a bit of a gamble. The 7800X3D is efficient enough that it won’t put too much strain on the motherboard. Personally, I’d opt for MSI if I were buying right now. You can also check out comparison listings to find something that suits your needs.
