Hey everyone! I'm looking to create an e-commerce site and I'd love to get your input on the tech stack you think is best for this kind of project. I understand that the right choice can vary depending on client needs and other factors, but as freelancers, what technologies are you finding most productive and reliable for e-commerce? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Honestly, I think Shopify is a great choice for many straightforward e-commerce needs. It's user-friendly and gets the job done quickly!
I typically go for Shopify. Unless the project is highly customized, I really don't bother with other platforms. Shopify just makes things smoother for e-commerce. But I have to admit, I do find myself dreading working with anything else occasionally.
If I were building something new, I'd choose Next.js for the frontend and use Payload CMS or Strapi for the backend. For the database, either PostgreSQL or MongoDB works well, plus I’d go with Stripe for payment processing. It’s a powerful combo that’s both scalable and flexible, although Shopify is easier to use if you don’t need too much customization.
Thanks for the insights! I’m familiar with that stack and it seems really solid. I might also explore Shopify as it’s highly recommended too.

I’ve heard mixed things about Shopify, especially regarding its pricing. What’s your take on that? Is it worth it?
