Hey everyone! I've been using my Zotac GTX 1060 6GB since 2017 and I've been putting off an upgrade for the last four years. I'm finally diving into the used market and checking out some options. Here's what I'm considering:
* RTX 3080 10GB for £365
* RX 6800 16GB for £300
* RX 6800 XT 16GB for £365
* RX 6900 XT 16GB for £395
I also looked at the RTX 3070 for £250, but I'm a bit worried about its 8GB VRAM for future gaming, especially at 1440p or possibly 4K. My current setup includes a Ryzen 5700 X3D and an 850W power supply. I would really appreciate any recommendations or thoughts on these options!

The RX 6800 XT is a solid choice if you don't mind skipping Nvidia. Just remember that in a few years, having only 8GB VRAM might limit you.
If you’re not set on Nvidia, the RX 6900 XT has 16GB of VRAM, which is a great option. It's slightly slower than a 4070 Super but could be worth it for the VRAM alone!
I'd recommend going for one of the RX 6800 cards. The 3080 10GB and 3070 are probably not great choices due to potential VRAM issues. I've got a 3080 and a 3060 Ti, and VRAM can be a real headache with many modern games. It really depends on what games you play and your settings though!
I upgraded from a 1060 6GB to a 3070 I found for about 280 CAD (150 GBP), and it's been fantastic. I haven't hit any VRAM limits yet, but I know it might happen eventually. The price was just too good to pass up!
For the price points you're looking at, I'd say the RX 6800 offers the best value, while the 6900 XT is also a solid pick if you're willing to spend a bit more. Just keep in mind that unless you specifically need Nvidia's features, those choices are excellent!
Thanks for the insight! Yeah, I mostly play at high settings, so VRAM could be a problem down the line.
