What’s the Best Virus Protection for PC Without Slowing It Down?

Hey everyone! I've been noticing my PC is getting slower, and I can't help but wonder if there's something malicious lurking around. I've been sticking to Windows Defender for a long time, but I'm starting to think it might not be catching everything.

I work remotely and often receive various files from clients. Honestly, I'm not always the most cautious with links I click (my bad). I don't want to go overboard with paranoia, but I also don't want to wake up one day to find my system locked by ransomware.

So, what's the best virus protection for my PC that won't kill my performance or bug me with constant pop-ups? I'm looking for something that I can set up and forget, but still trust to keep me safe.

Honestly, you're already using Windows Defender, and it does a decent job. If you really want more security, try adding Malwarebytes for manual scans when you feel extra worried about something. Just be cautious and check where links lead before clicking them!

In my opinion, anything extra beyond Windows Defender is just going to slow down your PC and isn’t really necessary. Windows Defender covers the basics well enough, especially if you’re cautious with where you browse. That said, using common sense goes a long way!

Makes sense! I guess I should focus more on being careful with links.
