I'm 16 and super eager to dive into computer science, especially AI since it seems like the future. I've been searching everywhere for effective learning methods, but honestly, just watching YouTube videos isn't enough for me. I'm looking for something that's both deep and fun. I started learning Lua to get my feet wet and I'm planning to switch to Python next. I'd really appreciate hearing how other young programmers like me have approached their learning journey!

Make sure you're excited about the subject! Starting with projects you're passionate about makes the learning process way more enjoyable. Once you have a target, dive in and figure things out as you go. Books and videos can be really useful for specific challenges that pop up during your projects!
I recommend trying open courseware courses, like CS50 for foundational programming concepts, or Andrew Ng's ML courses on Coursera. They offer great challenging material that can deepen your understanding of AI.
I think deep learning comes from books, but I get that they can be a bit dry. It's worth trying out some technical reads to enhance your understanding! If you're looking for recommendations, I'd be happy to help!
Can you suggest any specific titles?
Check out FreeCodeCamp if you enjoy interactive learning. The Odin Project is also fantastic if you want control over your learning pace. Both are great resources for web development and general coding.
Okay, I'll check those out!
I've found that the best way to learn is to start building projects you're interested in. Even if they're simple, you'll learn a ton from troubleshooting issues that come up.
I think I’ll try that! I’m eager to get started.
When I learned, it was all about self-study with books and coding practice. You could also explore online classes or summer workshops, especially if you're considering AI! You learn a lot by simply pushing through obstacles when you're building something you care about.
I agree, I want to learn as many languages as I can to boost my skills for potential opportunities abroad, especially since I'm in France.
