I'm trying to make a bootable USB disk using Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. I used to do this easily with Rufus on my old laptop, but I can't find a good equivalent tool or a tutorial for Linux. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated!

If you're looking for a GUI option, you might want to try out Fedora Media Writer. It's pretty straightforward. And seriously, there are tons of guides out there, so just search around!
You can also just right-click and check the options you have for creating the bootable USB. Here's a link to a screenshot that shows what it looks like. It might help!
What exactly are you trying to create a bootable disk for? A Windows installer or a Linux live USB? You could use Ventoy; it’s highly recommended. There are a bunch of other tools too, like Balena Etcher, MintStick, and Gnome Disks, so choose based on what you need!
To boot from USB, you usually need to enter BIOS and change the boot order temporarily. Make sure your USB has the ISO file on it, and you can follow the setup tutorial provided by Ubuntu.
Yeah, I heard you can run the OS directly from the USB if it's set up right!
