What’s the best way to handle meeting audio recording restrictions at work?

I'm working from home, but my company has strict policies against using audio recording or AI tools for meetings. I really believe that being able to record conversations and generate summaries would help me stay organized and more efficient. Is there any legitimate way to get audio from my corporate laptop to my personal computer for creating meeting summaries, given these restrictions?

Look, I totally get wanting better meeting notes, but breaking company policies can lead to serious consequences. Just find a job that gives you the tools you need instead. You deserve a workplace that supports your workflow!

Honestly, since your company has a clear policy against recording, it’s best to just not do it. If they're saying no, there’s probably a good reason behind it. Instead, maybe consider discussing your needs with your manager to explore other legitimate options.

You might want to check if your video call software has a built-in recording feature. A lot of platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, and MS Teams offer options for this. It could save you a lot of hassle while still adhering to company rules!

If you’re set on recording, maybe consider using a capture card to route audio to another computer. Just keep in mind this could still violate company policies, so proceed with caution.
