Hey everyone! I'm dealing with some health issues, so I'm limited to gaming in bed on my Lenovo ThinkPad. Unfortunately, it's lagging even with simple 2D games, so I've been streaming from my old PC that still works decently. The connectivity isn't always great, resulting in lag spikes or even disconnects.
My setup is a bit cramped since I live in a studio flat, and the PC is only about 3 to 3.5 meters away from my bed. I'm considering a few options to improve my streaming experience:
a) Getting a long HDMI to mini DisplayPort cable to turn my laptop into a second monitor for my PC.
b) Using an Ethernet cable splitter to run a long Ethernet cable to my laptop for better internet performance. But I'd like to know if I'd need to attach new connectors on the ends of a cut Ethernet cable.
c) Checking out Moonlight as an alternative solution.
d) Any other options you might suggest.
I usually have a decent handle on tech, but the pain makes it tough to think clearly right now. I'm looking for a straightforward solution that can really make a difference. Thanks a ton for your help!

Using your laptop as a second monitor is probably your best bet! This setup generally results in lower latency and better reliability than streaming over the network. An Ethernet cable can help, but if it's not well-optimized, you might still experience issues with lag, especially with your older hardware.
Just a heads up, you can’t directly use a laptop as a monitor unless you have a capture card. So keep that in mind!
That sounds great! If I go that route, would I still be able to use my laptop’s trackpad and keyboard, or will it be just a display? Also, can I connect my Xbox 360 controller via Bluetooth to my PC from 3 meters away? Thanks a bunch!
