I have a few computers that haven't joined our domain yet, and they've accumulated at least 6 years' worth of data on their local admin accounts. I'm planning to connect these computers to the domain and need to transfer all the data from the local user accounts to the new Active Directory accounts I've set up. Most of the solutions I've found either don't migrate the data properly or are designed for moving data between different machines. Is there a better way to handle this?

You might want to try the Profile Migration Wizard—it’s free and specifically designed for moving data from local accounts to Active Directory accounts. It even creates backup copies and maintains user sessions, so you won't lose any configurations. Give it a shot!
Honestly, why complicate things? Just back everything up to an external drive, set up the new AD profile, and copy everything back. If you’re dealing with fewer than ten computers, a manual approach might actually be quicker. Plus, it could help the users declutter their files beforehand to decide what really needs moving!

Totally agree! Using OneDrive could also streamline the process for syncing files back on the new profile.
