I'm planning to switch from Windows 11 to Zorin OS as my main Linux distribution, which I'm still debating between against Linux Mint. The issue I'm facing is how to transfer files I need from my Windows 11 SSD to the Linux system. I have both operating systems installed on separate drives: Windows 11 on a 1TB SSD and Linux on a 512GB SSD.
While I can redownload games from Steam, I want to keep my Krita files and some of my browser settings (like for Vivaldi) and configurations for PrismLauncher (my Minecraft modding setup). These files aren't stored in the cloud, and I'd rather avoid purchasing a new SSD or using a subscription-based cloud service due to cost and privacy concerns. If anyone has suggestions or knows of potential compatibility issues to keep in mind, that would be great!

Make sure to disable fast startup in Windows as well as Fast Boot options in your BIOS/UEFI settings. That helps ensure your Windows drive is accessible from your Linux system. Also, I highly recommend keeping backups on an external drive to avoid any mishaps during the transfer process!
Check out LocalSend. I've found it to be a reliable alternative for transferring files instead of traditional methods. It might not seem the best for your current situation, but it’s definitely handy for future projects like transferring art between your tablet and PC!
I'll check it out, but convenience is key for me right now. Maybe I can use it for simpler transfers later!

I've done both and I'm still not seeing anything when I check the file manager. It feels like it's acting like a fresh PC.
