I'm looking to upgrade my PC but I'm not very knowledgeable about this kind of stuff. My current specs are: AMD Phenom II X4 945 processor at 3.00 GHz, 8 GB of RAM, and my storage includes a 120GB SSD and a 932GB WD hard drive. I have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti graphics card. I'm on a tight budget and I want to turn this into a decent gaming machine while still being usable for work. Where should I start with upgrading?

At some point, it makes more sense to build from scratch instead of upgrading. You might be able to reuse your case, but be careful because newer GPU sizes can be a challenge to fit in older cases. Focus on your budget and think about getting the best graphics card you can afford first—it'll have the biggest impact on your gaming experience.
Honestly, with the current state of tech, it might be better to save up for a new system rather than just upgrade a few parts. Your processor is pretty outdated, and even if you upgrade the GPU, the rest of your system will likely hold you back. Just start looking into building a new setup when you can.
I'm new to this whole upgrading thing too, so I definitely relate!

How would I even start looking for parts? Just check places like Amazon?
