I've been trying to find the best way to store files that I want access to across multiple devices. I used to rely on Proton Drive, but since it doesn't have an official client and I couldn't get rclone to work, I thought about moving my Proton Drive files to my NAS home folder. The problem with that is I don't have a true 3-2-1 backup since everything is local, and I would need to spend a lot on services like Backblaze B2 to have cloud storage. I also considered switching back to SyncThing, which I used before, but I ran into a lot of issues with file conflicts. So I'm really interested in what solutions others are using these days for this kind of file storage and access.

For LAN-only storage, I'm using SyncThing for about 1TB of large content, and then I rely on pCloud for my cross-platform cloud storage. Works well for me!
I keep it simple with an SMB server for my local network. If I need to access files outside of my home, I've got SD-WAN set up for convenience.
I use iCloud for file storage and access it through the web on my Linux devices. I pay for extra storage since I have Apple TV. It manages most of my desktop, phone, and laptop needs, but it can be a hassle transferring files around.
Google Drive is a great and affordable option if you're looking for something reliable. It's cheap and does what it needs to!
If you're open to self-hosting, Nextcloud is a solid choice. You can install it on an old PC or Raspberry Pi using a stable Linux distro. It might take some learning, but it offers a lot of flexibility!
