I'm in the market for a new gaming PC and I'm trying to decide between two setups. One option is a Ryzen 9 5900X paired with a 4070 Super, and the other is a Ryzen 7 7800X3D combined with a 3080. My main games are modded Assetto Corsa, iRacing, Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite, and some other competitive shooters and sports games. I would appreciate any advice or recommendations!

Have you thought about going for a Ryzen 7 7700 with a 4070 Super instead? It's cheaper than the 7800X3D and offers better upgrade options for the future. Plus, you can still upgrade to the next gen of AM5 CPUs down the line. Just keep in mind, a 10GB GPU like the 3080 might not cut it for future gaming. Consider how much you're playing today against where you want to be a year or two from now.
That makes sense! I'm just worried about not being able to upgrade everything due to costs.
