Hey everyone! I'm building a new PC and I'm looking at three CPU options: the Core Ultra 225, Intel i5 14400F, and the Ryzen 5 7600. All three are roughly the same price here, with Intel running a promo that's tempting me a bit. My goal is mainly gaming at 1080p, and I'll be pairing it with an RTX 5070 that I got at a great deal despite some box damage. I'd love to hear how these CPUs compare for gaming performance and whether there might be any real-world differences that would affect my choice. Also, I don't plan on using this PC for heavy tasks like AI, Photoshop, or video editing—just gaming and some college work.

It's hard to say which one is best without more context, but overall, the Core Ultra 225 might perform a bit better. However, you're right about the cost; Intel platforms can be pricey. If budget allows, definitely consider all aspects before deciding.
Honestly, all three CPUs are fairly comparable in gaming performance, with the Core Ultra 225 being slightly ahead but not by much. It does shine in productivity tasks, so if that’s not your focus, maybe it’s not the best option. Just remember with Intel, upgrading means replacing the whole platform, while AMD likely offers better future-proofing.
I'd recommend the Ryzen 7600 too! It offers more upgrade options down the line with the AM5 platform, plus it might even keep you better prepared for future CPUs like Zen6 and possibly Zen7. Both Intel options won’t let you upgrade easily, so the 7600 is a smart choice. If you can stretch your budget, consider the 7700 for even better performance.
If gaming is your primary focus, I'd lean towards the Ryzen 5 7600. The Core Ultra 225 underperforms a bit in gaming, and even though that BF6 promo is nice, you need to weigh if it's worth getting a less capable CPU for gaming. Benchmarks show some FPS loss with the 225, but you might not notice it in everyday play.
So true! If you want to upgrade later, AMD seems the way to go. It's a bummer to have to switch everything out for a new Intel chip.
