I'm building a new PC and I'm struggling to decide on the right CPU. I have two options in mind: the AMD Ryzen 7 9700F and the Intel Core i7-14700F. From what I've researched, higher clock speeds seem to benefit gaming, while more threads are advantageous for multitasking. I often play Call of Duty, use Discord while streaming for my friends, listen to music, and sometimes have a video or TV show playing on my third monitor, along with WhatsApp. Given my usage, which CPU would be a better fit? They are about the same price for me, so that's not a deciding factor.

The Ryzen 9000 series generally offers better IPC (instructions per clock) compared to Intel's 14th gen. This means that even at the same clock speed, Ryzen could give you more performance. Plus, AMD often draws less power for comparable performance, which helps with heat management.
Also, keep in mind that the more graphics-intensive a game is—like Cyberpunk at max settings—the more it relies on your GPU instead of your CPU. In contrast, less demanding games like Minecraft will use your CPU more. If you're focusing on gaming, consider the 7800x3d; AMD tends to outperform Intel in current gaming scenarios, and you won't need to overspend on the 9800x3d unless you are doing heavy editing.
You mentioned multitasking a lot, but that's pretty standard for CPUs nowadays. If possible, check out the 9600x for a solid choice as well.
