I'm trying to decide between installing Debian or Arch on my main computer. I primarily use my PC for schoolwork and programming, so I'm looking for the best option that balances simplicity and functionality.

Definitely Debian! I've been using it daily, and it just works for my older hardware. If you're new to Linux, consider Linux Mint Debian Edition for the same stability but with an even easier setup.

Debian is probably the way to go. Arch can be overwhelming, especially for beginners, with its rolling release nature. You want something reliable for school projects.

I'd lean towards Debian. It’s stable and straightforward, which is great for schoolwork and programming without the added complexity of Arch.

Sure, Arch teaches you a lot about Linux, but for everyday tasks and programming, Debian will save you from potential headaches.

If you can, why not try both? Have Debian for the stable environment and experiment with Arch to build your Linux skills!
