Which Linux Distribution is Best for My Old Acer Laptop?

I'm considering switching to Linux on my old Acer Extensa EX15-22-R8HU. It has a Ryzen 3 3350U processor and an integrated GPU. I want to use it for everyday tasks and play low-demand games like Roblox and Minecraft. I tried installing Linux Mint, but I encountered an error during installation: 'unable to change power state from D3cold to D0, device inaccessible'. What would be the best Linux OS to try on my setup?

I've been using Mint for a while now, and it's been a decent experience. You might want to check if your BIOS is up to date since some Acer models have compatibility issues with Linux.

I heard that Linux Mint can have issues, especially with some Acer laptops. If it doesn't work for you, consider trying Fedora or CachyOS. They might work better with your hardware!

If you're looking for alternatives, you could try Pop!_OS, Lubuntu, or ZorinOS. They're pretty lightweight and should run well on your laptop. Just keep in mind that Roblox can be tricky on Linux, while Minecraft Java usually runs fine!

Regarding the installation error, check if there's any device name mentioned before that error. It could help identify which device is causing the problem. Updating your BIOS might also resolve the issue.
