Hey everyone! I'm looking to dive back into Linux after stepping away for nearly 15 years. Back in 2010-2011, my school used Edubuntu, and I really enjoyed its simplicity and customization options. Since then, I've only used Windows (7 and 10), which has left me a bit intimidated by the sheer number of Linux distros available today.
I primarily use my PC for gaming (especially playing and modding Steam games), as well as using Blender for 3D modeling and stud.io for designing Lego creations. I want to ensure that the distribution I choose will make these tasks easy without requiring a lot of extra setup. I've heard positive things about Ubuntu and Mint, but I'm uncertain about which one would be the best fit for my needs. Given my previous experience and current usage, I would appreciate any suggestions on which distro to try!

If gaming is your primary concern, you might want to check out Bazzite. It's designed specifically for gamers and works well for web browsing too. Just keep in mind that it might not be the best for casual users who want a more general-purpose OS.
I'd suggest giving Linux Mint a shot! It's user-friendly and seems to be great for newcomers, especially after such a long gap. Honestly, Linux has come a long way in terms of ease of use since you last tried it. You’ll likely find it much more accessible now than it was 15 years ago.
Mint. Ok! Thank you!
Ubuntu is another good option! It has a larger community and lots of documentation, which can be super helpful if you run into issues. Both it and Mint have great support for gaming and software like Blender, so you can't really go wrong either way!
Bazzite is solid for gaming, but if you're looking for something broader, Mint or Ubuntu might be a better choice for everyday tasks.
