Which Linux Distro Should I Choose After Switching from Windows?

I've spent the last seven years using Windows 10, but I've recently switched to CachyOS on my laptop. However, I'm finding Arch Linux a bit challenging with its steep learning curve. As a beginner, I'm wondering if I should opt for a more user-friendly distro like Fedora or Mint, or if I should stick with an Arch-based distro on my desktop. I mainly play Assetto Corsa with a steering wheel, so I'm also curious about the compatibility of my steering wheel compared to how it performs on Windows. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

While I can’t speak directly about Assetto Corsa or your steering wheel, consider trying Bazzite as a gaming-focused Linux OS. Steam OS is also in beta, and might offer what you need if you’re running an AMD setup.

If you’re not using cutting-edge hardware, Arch's rolling release model might not be necessary. Both Mint and Fedora provide version releases, which can make for a smoother transition and are friendlier for beginners.

CachyOS is one of the more user-friendly Arch options, but if you're looking for simplicity, Mint or Fedora might suit you better. Assetto Corsa can be tricky with mods and steering wheels, so compatibility can vary.

While Mint is often recommended, I’ve personally found it a bit limiting compared to other options. If you want something solid, Bazzite seems like a great choice too. Each distro has its own learning curve, but it's definitely a worthwhile journey!

I recommend trying out Mint! It has a Windows-like feel, which can make your transition easier. Plus, it’s stable and supports a lot of software designed for Debian and Ubuntu.
