Which Linux Distro Should I Choose for Gaming and Everyday Use?

Hey everyone! I'm a current Windows 11 Pro user, but I'm really not happy with it. I have a powerful setup with a Ryzen 9 5950X, 32GB RAM, and an RX 7900 XTX, but Windows is really bottlenecking my system with tons of unnecessary background processes. Recently, my installation has been acting up, causing my PC to stutter, and I think a full OS reinstall is my only fix.

So, I'm thinking about switching to Linux! From what I hear, it's better optimized and cleaner. I did try it about ten years ago but found it challenging, especially for gaming. I understand that things have improved since then, with specific distros now catering to gamers.

Could anyone suggest which distro would be best for my needs? I primarily use my PC for gaming on Steam and Discord (about 80%), some web browsing (15%), and the EA App and emulation (5%). Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Honestly, Tumbleweed sounds like a good fit! If you're into hardcore gaming, you might want to check out CachyOS too; some users say it boosts performance for certain games.

Thanks for the tips! I've heard a lot about Tumbleweed, but what do you think about Buzzite? It seems similar.

I’d recommend trying openSUSE Tumbleweed. It’s great for newer hardware and keeps everything up to date, which is perfect for your powerful setup.
