I'm trying to decide between two setups for my computer build: one with a Ryzen 5 9600X paired with an RX 7800, and the other with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and RX 7700. They are priced similarly, and there's also an option for a 9600X with an RTX 4070 in my budget. I enjoy playing games like Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3, and I also use my PC for programming. I'm considering whether I should stick with AMD or look into Intel, like the i5-14600K, but I'm a bit unsure right now.

If you're leaning towards an AM5 platform, Ryzen is the way to go. It has great future-proofing, and the performance boost is worth it!
I'd suggest going for the 9600X with the RX 7800. It mostly depends on your resolution, but it seems like you'll hit a GPU bottleneck regardless. So, prioritizing a stronger GPU is a smart move.
Do you already have a 1440p monitor to go with that? It can really make a difference in gaming experience if you're planning to upgrade soon.
Not yet, but I'm hoping to get one in the near future!
I'm currently gaming at 1080p, but considering a jump to 1440p down the line. Thanks for the advice!
