I've recently switched from consoles to PC gaming after getting a ROG Ally, but I've been hitting some performance snags. I set up a PC with an i7-5820k and 32GB of RAM, paired with an RTX 4060, and while I'm enjoying some older games like Max Payne 3 with over 120 FPS, Red Dead Redemption 2 is giving me a hard time. Running benchmarks at Ultra settings only nets me around 32 FPS, and even at the lowest settings, I'm only hitting about 38 FPS. My CPU usage barely goes above 50%. What could be causing these performance issues, and how can I improve streaming from my desktop to ROG Ally at 1080p?

Yeah, the i7-5820k is over a decade old now. It can't compete with modern CPUs, even some newer i3s can outperform it in CPU-heavy games. Plus, if you're running DDR3 RAM, that's another bottleneck. It’s worth taking a look at those components to see what upgrades you can do!
It sounds like you're hitting a CPU bottleneck. The i7-5820k is quite dated, and the RTX 4060 deserves a more powerful processor to unleash its full potential. You might want to consider upgrading to a newer i7, something from the 10th generation or higher, to keep up with the demands of RDR2 and similar titles.
Absolutely! An upgraded CPU will make a significant difference. It's tough to get good frames with that setup in more demanding games.
I see what you're saying. I've noticed in some videos that people still have decent performance with a similar setup, so I'm confused about why RDR2 is struggling so much.
