I recently upgraded my CPU from an Intel I3-9100F to an Intel I5-9400F, and I've noticed that some games, like Rainbow Six Siege, are running below 120 FPS now. Before the upgrade, I was able to hit 120+ FPS easily. I'm still pretty new to PC building and not sure if I've made a mistake in the setup or if there's something else going on. Here are my specs: Intel I5-9400F, GTX 1650, 16 GB RAM, and both a 1 TB SSD and a 256 GB SSD. I apologize for any language errors, as English isn't my first language. Thanks for your help!

Have you checked your CPU temperatures while playing? Overheating can cause throttling, which might make your games run worse.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll keep an eye on that.
It’s possible that Rainbow Six Siege is more sensitive to single-thread performance, and the I5-9400F has slightly lower clock speeds than the I3-9100F. Also, what speed is your RAM? You might need to enable XMP in your BIOS to get the maximum performance out of it.
My RAM is 2667 MHz. How do I enable XMP?

My average temperature is around 60-65°C, but when I play games like Valorant, my FPS is actually better.
