Hey everyone, I've been having a really frustrating issue lately where I can't play any online multiplayer games. It just started suddenly, and I was stumped for a while. Then, I tried using a VPN, and surprisingly, it worked! But the downside is the bad ping and all the other issues that come with using a VPN, which are tiring me out. I've already rebooted my router multiple times and even reset my PC, so I'm at a loss here. I'm hoping someone can offer some advice or a solution to fix this issue permanently. Thanks in advance!

It sounds like your ISP might be restricting gaming traffic. That's why your VPN works – it hides the type of traffic, so the ISP doesn’t block it. I’d recommend reaching out to your ISP to explain the situation. They might be able to help you resolve the issue.
Which games are you having trouble with? I had a similar problem with Elden Ring on PS5 due to incompatible NAT settings. If it’s limited to one game, it could be that; but if every multiplayer game is affected, it’s likely your ISP causing the trouble.
Curious, where are you located? Knowing your country might help narrow down the issue.
I'm in Germany.
Also, you might want to ask if they offer a static IP. Some ISPs use shared IPs in certain areas, which can lead to dropped connections. A fixed IP might help you bypass that problem.
