So, here's a weird situation: my friend bought something from a market vendor using a Square machine and confirmed her email for the receipt. However, I ended up getting the email receipt, and she didn't! Our email addresses are completely different, and I didn't make any purchases at that vendor—just stood next to her. We checked our bank accounts, and she was charged, but I was not. How could the Square machine have sent her receipt to me? Any ideas?

This happened to my wife and me! I think it’s because she registered as a Square seller and it links to our address or something similar. Maybe your friend’s account is somehow linked to yours?
It’s possible that your friend maybe used her card before and had the receipt sent to your email. Square saves email addresses for convenience.
Hmm! Not that I remember, but that could be a possibility. It's weird she selected her email on the machine though. Thanks for the insight!
Square does get it wrong sometimes. Your friend can actually find a link at the bottom of her receipt to report the incorrect email to Square.
So strange that it does that! My friend and I don't live together or share any cards, so I'm really puzzled!
