I've been a Splashtop user since 2015, and I have dealt with plenty of issues in the past. My service renewal was on January 30, but my credit card had expired, leading to an immediate cancellation without any grace period. Now I'm faced with a frustrating situation: the plan I had was a "legacy" one that's no longer available, and I have to renew at a whopping $500 instead of my usual $200. Why do companies seem to have such a disregard for their customers? Also, can anyone suggest popular alternatives to Splashtop these days?

You might also want to look into Anydesk. It's pretty popular and user-friendly.
Unfortunately, Splashtop is still one of the more affordable choices in the market. Most competitors hit you with surprise fee increases too, unless you consider hosting your own solution like MeshCentral.
That renewal spike is tough to swallow! My team has been using LogMeIn since 2013 with minimal price increases, but I’ve heard good things about Action1 too.
You might want to check out Action1! It's free for under 200 endpoints, and I actually prefer it over Splashtop. Plus, it runs in your browser, which is a nice touch and helps save on system resources.
If you're open to self-hosting, Rustdesk is a solid option. It gives you control over your data and isn’t as pricey as some other services.
Are you looking for solutions for personal use or for a business?
It's for a business, focusing mainly on remote support and ad-hoc session codes.
Just a heads up, it's important to keep your payment information updated. Companies like Splashtop usually send renewal reminders, even with auto-renewal set. Regarding legacy plans, they typically can’t reinstate an expired plan due to regulations, but you might be able to maintain it as long as you renew on time.
Ha! Corporations sure do love their customers!
Honestly, it all boils down to profits. Companies often treat customers this way simply because they can.

Wow, does it really include everything they offer for free?
