I've noticed that when I click on certain dubious links, they sometimes close themselves right away. I'm using an adblocker, specifically Bitdefender Adblockplus and uBlock, and I'm wondering if the adblocker could be causing this behavior or if these shady sites are doing it on purpose to avoid detection. Anyone have insight on this?

Yeah, it's pretty common for adblockers to interfere with certain pages. Sometimes, shady sites will try to redirect you or execute scripts, and your adblocker might block these actions, causing the page to close or behave weirdly. It's not uncommon!
You might want to check which browser you're using too. If you're on Firefox, I highly recommend switching to uBlock Origin instead of Bitdefender's adblocker, because it’s generally more effective with weird redirects. I’ve found that it gives clear messages about what it blocks, which is super helpful.
Yeah, I'm using Firefox with uBlock Origin now, and it's been great! Thanks for the tip!
