I'm having a strange issue on my mom's computer. Whenever I open Chrome, it acts like a blank page and redirects me to Yahoo when I search for something. I tried deleting the extensions that were installed, including McAfee, but the problem persists. Is McAfee causing this issue? How can I get Chrome to stop redirecting to Yahoo?

Just make sure you're actually going to www.google.com. If it redirects straight to Yahoo from there, that could indicate a deeper issue. Also, I agree that McAfee can behave like malware; it might be time for a scan with Malwarebytes to check for any real threats.
Try looking at your homepage settings too! Go to Settings > On Startup and see if Yahoo is set there. If everything seems fine, check the Search Engine setting to ensure it’s set to Google.
I checked that already, but Yahoo was never set as our default. It looks like this might be something McAfee is doing.
Check for any suspicious browser extensions installed as they might also be causing this redirection. Sometimes, these extensions can mess with your settings without you realizing it.
I already removed a few extensions, but maybe there's more lurking around!
It sounds like Yahoo might be set as the default search engine in your browser settings. You can check by going to Chrome's settings and changing it back to Google. If that doesn't work, consider uninstalling McAfee to see if that helps, since some users have experienced similar issues with it.
There's a video that explains how to uninstall McAfee if you need it! Just search for it!
Uninstalling McAfee might be tough since my mom insists on keeping it. Is there another way to fix this?
Thanks for the tip! I didn’t consider real malware could be the issue.
