Long story short, I used to download a lot of games from a particular site about two years ago, but I've stopped using it since then. I've always had Malwarebytes installed and never thought twice about my computer's security. However, today I tried to connect to the internet and suddenly got a pop-up from Malwarebytes blocking that site. On top of that, my default browser switched to Yahoo instead of Google. Should I be concerned? Is my computer compromised, or is there something I can do to fix this?

First things first, Yahoo and Google are search engines, not browsers—just to clarify. So, about that pop-up: what exactly did it say? It’d help to know more details or see a screenshot. And don't panic—your computer isn't necessarily dead; there are steps you can take to clean it up.
You didn't mention the site, but if it's a downloads site, it could be sketchy. If it's one of those 'safe' sites from a megathread, sometimes they can still have issues. It's a good idea to check with current malware guides to be sure.
