I'm trying to help my dad with a frustrating issue he's been having with his iPhone and CarPlay. While he's on phone calls, whether it's through Bluetooth or USB-C, the CarPlay connection suddenly drops and audio switches to his iPhone headset, which is a problem since he's driving and can't hear it. After about 8 seconds, it reconnects without him doing anything. This happens often and seems unrelated to the car (he's tried multiple models) or the connection method. I'm looking for insights or similar experiences to help him understand what's going on. Thanks!

I faced this in my 2016 Kia Carnival too! One thing you can try is forgetting the car’s Bluetooth connection and reconnecting it. Make sure the iOS on the iPhone is fully updated as well. Sometimes the car's Bluetooth connection can be a bit glitchy.
Honestly, you should probably just think for yourself instead of asking for advice like a robot. There's no way you're on a Bluetooth call while using wired CarPlay. Did you double-check your situation?
I've had the same issue in my Nissan Rogue, so I think it might be the car's system. It only happens during phone calls, though, which is super annoying. Maybe give it a try with another car or check if there are updates for the car's software too.

I appreciate the feedback! I went through all the points in my post and they’re based on a call with my dad to gather details. I understand it sounds odd, but I assure you I’m fully engaged in this.
