I have a friend who's been trying to access her Chase Bank account online, but she keeps getting redirected to a different website (donkey-credit dot org) instead. She told me that this happens consistently, even though I've watched her log in successfully a couple of times. Here's what she does:
1. She goes to chase.com.
2. The auto-filled credentials in her browser are outdated (she recently changed her password), and when she clicks "sign in," instead of the usual error message about credentials being incorrect, she ends up at this scam site.
I'm at a loss for how to help her figure this out. She also got a fullscreen pop-up saying her computer has a virus and to call a number. I've got Malwarebytes installed on her machine, but I'm wondering if there's something more going on. Any advice?

It sounds like she might be mistyping the URL, and the browser is suggesting a previous search entry that leads to a scam site. Make sure she checks the URL carefully before hitting enter. It’s also possible she has some malware redirecting her traffic, so keep an eye on that.
I’d recommend using a different browser entirely to see if the issue continues. A lot of times, malicious browser extensions can cause these sorts of problems.

Yeah, definitely check in incognito mode to see if it’s the same. If it works fine there, then a browser extension might be the culprit.
