I'm having a strange issue with my iPhone when I make purchases. Even though I've set my own card as the default, every time I buy something, it gets charged to my dad's card instead. I only used his card a few times in the past, and now it's the only one being charged, even though I can't add his card anymore since it keeps saying 'your card cannot be added at this time.' I'm trying to figure out how this is happening and how I can resolve it. Any help would be appreciated!

It sounds like you might be part of a family sharing setup. When family sharing is enabled, purchases are charged to the family organizer's card by default, which in your case seems to be your dad. This has been a feature for quite some time, so if you're unsure, you might want to check your settings to see if you're in a family group.
I searched for family settings on my phone and couldn't find anything. Is there a specific way to access that? I don't remember anyone setting it up!
Another option is to use Apple gift cards for your purchases instead. They would apply to your account first before charging your dad's card. That way, you can avoid using his card altogether!
That sounds like a decent workaround! But if your dad prefers not using his card at all, how can I stop that from happening?
Exactly! If you're part of a family sharing group and your dad's the organizer, that's probably why this is happening. Just check your Family Sharing settings for confirmation.
