I'm trying to set up MoCA 2.5, but every time I power on the adapters, my internet crashes completely. Here's the setup:
I have Frontier internet, with a coax feed coming into my attic. I've installed a PoE filter on the incoming line before the first splitter. All my splitters are Amphenol MoCA 2.5 rated (5–1675 MHz).
In the router/modem room, I have the wall coax going to a 2-way MoCA splitter. One output goes to my modem, and the other goes to a Frontier MoCA 2.5 adapter, which connects via Ethernet to the router.
In the PC room, the coax from the wall connects to another Frontier MoCA 2.5 adapter, which is wired to my PC.
Both adapters have solid MoCA link lights, indicating the coax path is working. However, whenever I turn on the MoCA adapters, my entire internet drops — the modem loses its signal and the Wi-Fi goes down.
I've ensured that everything is RG6 and tightly connected. What could be causing MoCA to disrupt my internet connection, even with the PoE filter and everything set up properly?

It sounds like your MoCA frequencies might be overlapping with those of your modem. This is common, especially in the 800-1.2GHz range. To troubleshoot, check what frequency your modem is using and see if it aligns with the MoCA adapters. If they are on the same coax line, you might want to consider isolating the modem by running it on its own coax. This should prevent any signal interference from the MoCA network.

That makes sense! I think keeping them on separate lines could solve the problem. I'll give it a shot.
