I'm dealing with a frustrating problem where my PC freezes completely when it's idle, but I can still move the mouse cursor around. If I click on anything, it goes completely unresponsive and I have to restart. The strange part is that if I just leave Chrome open without any tabs, it doesn't freeze. I've experienced some rare freezes while browsing or gaming, but mostly it happens when I leave it idle. I've tested my RAM and it seems fine, and I've checked the Windows Event Viewer without much luck. I really want to avoid reinstalling Windows because of all my programs. My specs include a Ryzen 5 5600x, Zotac RTX 3090, and 32GB of RAM. What's causing this issue and how can I solve it?

Just a heads up, always back up your data before making any changes to BIOS or disk setup. You might inadvertently lose important data while troubleshooting.
You might want to check which power plan you’re using. I've had a similar problem and found that raising the minimum CPU utilization helped. It sounds like your CPU might be idling at low speeds, which could be causing the freezes. Try increasing the minimum processor state in your power settings and see if that helps!
Definitely give that a shot! Increasing the minimum might prevent your CPU from dropping too low and freezing up.
A good strategy is to open Task Manager's Performance tab and let your PC freeze. That way, you can see what’s happening when the freeze occurs. If one of your resources is being maxed out, it could give you a clue on what to address.
That's a good idea! I’ll keep an eye on that the next time it happens.
I have a balanced power plan with minimum state at 0%. Should I raise that?
