I bought a prebuilt PC a couple of years ago from a well-known site, and it's been giving me some trouble lately. Originally, I had a "CPU Fan Speed Detection Error" when I first turned it on, but support helped me fix that through the BIOS by ignoring the warning. Now, I'm experiencing random shutdowns. The last time I contacted support, they said resetting the CMOS fixed the issue, but here we are again after about a year of normal operation. The shutdowns happen unpredictably—whether I'm just sitting at the desktop, gaming, or watching videos. I'm keeping an eye on the temperatures, and they seem normal, so I'm stumped. Could this be related to the CMOS again? What other possibilities might there be? Here are my specs just in case: Intel i7-14700KF, IBUYPOWER liquid cooler, 32GB RAM, GeForce RTX 4080, 2TB NVMe SSD, ASUS motherboard, and an 850W power supply.

First off, have you tried updating your BIOS? Sometimes those CPUs fail if the BIOS is outdated due to overvolting issues. You might also want to check on your power supply, as that can also lead to random shutdowns. Just throwing out some ideas to check out!

I'm gonna give the BIOS update a shot. Thanks for the suggestion!
