I recently purchased a used RTX 3080 and noticed that when it's under load, it makes loud noises similar to an airplane taking off. Is this a common issue, or should I be concerned? I've checked the temperatures, and they stay around 80 degrees.

It might just need to be cleaned or repasted. Some GPUs can get really noisy if they're dusty or the thermal paste has dried up. However, if the card is only a few years old, it's likely just dirty and doesn't need a repaste yet.
Try downloading GPU-Z to monitor your temperatures. Run a stress test with FurMark and check if the hotspot temperatures are really high. If it's around 80°C during gaming, you're generally fine, but if it gets hotter, there might be issues with the thermal pads or paste that need addressing.
Sounds like my RTX 3080 too! They can get pretty loud under load, especially if you have a model with a less efficient cooling system. It's pretty normal, but keeping it clean can help minimize the noise.
The model matters too! Some 3080s are designed to run hotter and louder than others. Look up reviews for your specific card to see if the noise level is typical. Good cooling quality can make a big difference.
If you have a Zotac model, consider tweaking the fan curve using MSI Afterburner. My Zotac 3060 Ti was ridiculously loud too, but tuning the fans helped a lot.
