Why Is My Browser Saying There’s No Internet When Everything Else Works?

I'm having a weird issue where my internet is perfectly fine—I'm able to play online games and download new titles from Steam. However, whenever I try to open my web browsers, they keep telling me there's no internet connection. Sometimes, if I unplug and replug my router, I can access the browser for about 30 seconds before it cuts off again. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any ideas on how to fix this?

You should try a quick ping test to see if it's a DNS issue. Open the command prompt by pressing WindowsKey + R, then type 'cmd'. From there, type 'ping cloudflare.com' and let me know what results you get. If that fails, try 'ping 1.1.1.1'. If only one works, you'll get a better idea of what's wrong.

I ran the tests! Cloudflare averaged 17ms and TTL was 55, while 1.1.1.1 averaged 14ms. Both worked!

It sounds like your browser is having trouble accessing the internet even though your connection is fine. Does your browser show any error messages? For example, Edge might say something like "Hmm... can't reach this page" followed by an error about the connection being reset. That might help narrow it down!

Yeah, Edge gives that exact message plus some suggestions like checking the connection and proxy settings.

It might also be due to some security software blocking your connection. Check if you have programs like McAfee or Norton running, or see if there's a proxy setting in your browser that's interfering. Most browsers, including Chrome and Firefox, have an option to reset their settings to default, which could help as well.
